How to clean the inside of your microwave:

Cleaning Instructions:

Gently cleanse any food build up with a damp cloth and soapy water. For caked on food, place a microwaveable dish full of water in the microwave. Set it on high for five to ten minutes, allowing steam to disperse within the unit. This steam should loosen the caked on residue enough for complete removal.

Instead of using plain water, you could try adding a tablespoon of lemon juice or vinegar to the water. Microwave on high for ten minutes. The remaining residue on internal cavity should wipe clean easily.

If the internal cavity has any burn spots, sand them smooth and then paint over them with microwave touch up paint, like the one pictured to the left. If your microwave has any burn holes in the cavity, call an appliance repair technician and refrain from using the unit.

If the wave guide has burn spots on it, replace it along with conducting a thorough cleaning.

CAUTION: Your microwave oven is capable of giving you a serious electrical shock, even when it is unplugged. We strongly suggest you seek the assistance of an appliance repair technician when conducting any microwave oven repair.
