This fan motor is used in frost-free refrigerators with a condenser coil. When the compressor runs, so does this fan, circulating air through the refrigerator grille, to cool the compressor and condenser coils. This fan motor also helps to evaporate excess water in the drain pan. This kit includes the motor, fan blade, wire harness, and screw. The cutter grid is located within the main unit of the ice maker and contains thin, heated wires that slice the ice into cubes that are then deposited in the ice bin. If the cutter grid is broken, ice can back up within the ice maker. This part is sold as a complete assembly and is used with freestanding ice makers.

If your standalone ice maker is making too much ice, not enough ice, or none, you may need to replace the bin thermostat. This part will sense how much ice is in the bin and decide if it should produce more or stop the production of ice. You can test the thermostat for continuity with an ohm meter. This part is made of metal and plastic and is white in color. This is a genuine OEM part.
