If your ice maker is not making ice, is leaking, or the cup or bearing is cracked, you will need to replace this part. This part is three inches long, white in color, and is made of plastic. The ice maker thermostat, also known as bi-metal device, regulates and controls the activation of the icemaker ejection cycle. The thermostat lets the ice maker know when it is cold enough to produce ice. If your ice maker is not making ice or not dispensing ice, you may need to replace the thermostat.
