There are two belts under a Maytag washer; one for the main drive pulley and one for the water pump. The belt kit includes both the drive belt and the pump belt which are both V-shaped. The belt connects the drive motor to the drive system to be able to spin the tub basket. If your washer will not agitate, not spin, or not drain, the belt could be worn or damaged and will need to be replaced. This is a genuine OEM kit. Please remember to disconnect the power and shut off the water supply to your washer before starting your repair.

The door switch is a simple on/off mechanism that prohibits the dryer from operating when the door is open. The dryer cannot operate until the door switch signals that the door is closed. If your dryer will not start or the switch shorted out, your washer will not operate and the switch will need to be replaced. This switch is a genuine OEM part. This black lid switch assembly comes complete with a bracket, two switches, and a fuse. An open fuse might indicate that the lid switch is bad. The point of the lid switch is for the tub to stop spinning when the washer lid is opened. It is a safety precaution just in case someone decides to stick their hand inside the washer while the tub is spinning.
