Expert Repair Guide

  1. Here’s how to replace the lower wheel axle on your dishwasher.
  2. For this repair you’ll likely need a pair of needle nose pliers.
  3. To do this repair you’ll need to remove the lower rack, so begin by removing any items that are in the rack including your cutlery basket.
  4. Then remove the rack and set it on a suitable work surface.
  5. If the axle is still on the rack, you can remove it by spreading the two plastic clips at the back, so that they get by the metal portion of the rack, and then pull it right off.
  6. Next remove the wheel from that axle, to do this compress the split in that axle using your needle nose pliers.
  7. Just gently squeeze them together while pushing out on the wheel at the same time, and slide the wheel completely off the old axle.
  8. You can now discard the old wheel.
  9. Making sure that you have the rounded or outside portion of the wheel facing away from the axle, press it on until it snaps in place.
  10. Finally, reinsert that axle onto the rack, and to try not to damage the vinyl on the wire on the rack in the process.
  11. Once lined up, spread the locking tabs just enough until it snaps into place.
  12. You can now reinstall your rack in the dishwasher and our repair is complete.
