This fan motor is used in frost-free refrigerators with a condenser coil. When the compressor runs, so does this fan, circulating air through the refrigerator grille, to cool the compressor and condenser coils. This fan motor also helps to evaporate excess water in the drain pan. This kit includes the motor, fan blade, wire harness, and screw. If your refrigerator/freezer section is too warm you may need to replace this part. This part has been updated by the manufacturer. It may look different in appearance but will still function the same as the original part. This is a genuine OEM part. Disconnect power to your refrigerator before starting the repair.

Fan fit, wiring didn't

Kenmore side by side quit cooling and freezing. The dividing wall between fridge and freezer was HOT to the touch. Narrowed the problem down to condenser cooling fan. The original part is no longer available and this part is being substituted. The fan fit great but the wiring harness that came with the kit did not fit the plug on the refrigerator that had been plugged into the old fan. Not really a problem, just took extra time and effort to direct wire the harness to the refrigerator. Fan works as it should and 23 year old Kenmore side by side is working like new!
