The fuse protects the microwave by shutting it off if there is an electrical surge. If your microwave is not turning on you may need to replace the fuse. This part is just over an inch long, is metallic on both ends, and ceramic in the middle. This is a genuine OEM part. Please remember to disconnect power to your microwave before starting your repair.

This simple fix saved me hundreds.

Microwave door issue shorted the fuse. After taking the microwave down from above the stove, opening the panel that allows access to the fuse to ensure that it was indeed the issue, I had no microwave for 3 days between ordering and installing the new fuse. I ordered two, just in case. So, for less than $30, I have a fully functioning microwave again and the family is thrilled! Not sure what house call would have cost but I am sure it would have been at least $100 to come in, take apart and trouble shoot the unit.
