This door recess spring or dispenser lever spring in your refrigerator is used to return the ice door to the closed position or the dispenser lever to the home position once released. You will find the spring in the water dispenser assembly, behind the main control panel. If the dispenser lever is malfunctioning or the dispenser ice door is not closing, you may need to replace this door recess spring.

Incredible Service

After initially ordering a spring from GE's diagram that didn't work (high springs in the package were the wrong size), EAP refunded the cost and suggested I contact GE to see if there was an alternate part. I did that and found the right part. EAP had that part for a lower cost and refunded the shipping from the first order. I opted for the 2-3 day shipping FedEx ground which turned out to be next day delivery both times. This is probably due to the product being shipped from Louisville to Indianapolis, but incredible service just the same. Agents were very were very helpful and professional online. I will always order from EAP based on this experience.
