The thermal fuse, also known as a safety thermostat, protects the oven range from overheating. If the oven range overheats, the fuse is blown to cut power off to the oven range. Once the fuse has blown, the oven range will no longer heat and the fuse will need to be replaced. The thermal fuse measures approximately 1” and can also be used in a microwave, check your model number. This is a genuine OEM part. The thermostat is used to establish and maintain the internal temperature within the oven cavity.
