The thermal fuse, also known as a safety thermostat, protects the oven range from overheating. If the oven range overheats, the fuse is blown to cut power off to the oven range. Once the fuse has blown, the oven range will no longer heat and the fuse will need to be replaced. The thermal fuse measures approximately 1” and can also be used in a microwave, check your model number. This is a genuine OEM part. This part will trip when the controls for the oven are not working properly and the temperature in the oven cavity gets too hot. It will cut off the power to the elements. Once the part trips, it cannot be reset will need to be replaced. The thermostat is in the back of the oven. This is a genuine OEM part.
