The refrigerator light switch turns the interior light off and on when you open or close the refrigerator door. The light switch also prevents the front dispenser from working if the refrigerator door is opened. If the switch has shorted out or the light bulb is not turning on when the door is open, you may need to replace the switch. The defrost timer acts like a clock, continually advances and alternates between activating the cooling cycle and the defrost heater. This 120V 60Hz defrost timer will cycle for twenty-five minutes after every six hours of run time.
