If the switch has shorted out or the light bulb is not turning on when the door is open, you may need to replace the switch. The defrost timer acts like a clock, continually advances and alternates between activating the cooling cycle and the defrost heater. This 120V 60Hz defrost timer will cycle for twenty-five minutes after every six hours of run time.
