The follower gear works in conjunction with the worm gear and is part of the gear system that powers the mixer. If the mixer is making noises and not mixing you may need to replace this gear. This is a genuine OEM manufacturer-approved gear, used in stand mixers. Please remember to disconnect the power to the mixer before starting the repair.

Worm follower gear meshes with the worm gear, causing the rotation of the planetary assembly where the accessories attached.
Unplug the mixer before installing this part. Wear work gloves to protect your hands.
