The door strike works in conjunction with the dryer door. The male piece of the door strike is the piece that activates the door switch once the dryer door is closed. If your dryer won’t start, or the door won’t open/close, you may need to replace the door strike. This part is made from metal and measures approximately 1 inch. This is a genuine OEM part.
