Water that fills your dishwasher lifts this float, and when it reaches a certain level, it acts as a trigger for the float switch. The float triggers the float switch to shut off, thereby shutting off the flow of water into the dishwasher.

The timer controls the dishwashers cycles by regulating the length of time that the power is directed to each cycle unit. If the timer is not working correctly it can disrupt the dishwasher's operations and commands. The timer is located behind the main control panel.
