The bake element provides heat for baking and is located on the bottom of the oven. This part measures approximately 20-inch in length, 18-inch wide and is made of metal. If your bake element has shorted out, has arcing, makes the oven too hot, is not heating properly or has little to no heat, you may need to replace it. To complete this repair, you will need a screwdriver to remove the screws holding the cooktop in place. Lift the cooktop up, and remove the screw and clip holding the old burner in place. Replace with the new element.

The burner switch turns the surface element on and off and controls the amount of heat the element produces. If you are unable to start your heating element, or if the temperature is unpredictable, you may have a damaged surface burner switch.
