Expert Repair Guide

  1. Now remove the screws from the front panel and lift the front panel forward and up, you can now remove it and set it out of the way.
  2. Then roll the belt off of the idler so we can lift the drum out of place.
  3. While supporting the drum with one hand, reach in on the right hand side to remove the belt.
  4. Pay attention to how that belt comes off the drum, around the motor pulley, back in underneath the idler pulley and on to the drum.
  5. Take note of how that belt is orientated on those two pulleys, because you’ll need to know that for reassembly.
  6. Simply roll the belt off the motor pulley and slide the old belt off of the drum.
  7. To install the new belt drape it around the drum, keeping in mind you need to keep the ribbed side of the belt against the drum.
  8. To reassemble make sure that our belt is roughly in position on the motor pulley, then put your idler in the slot and support the drum in an upright position.
  9. Now roll the belt over the top of the idler, in through the opening.
  10. Put some tension on the idler and roll the belt on to the motor pulley.
  11. Ensure everything is lined up by rotate the drum at least a full revolution.
  12. With everything aligned, you’re now ready to reattach the front panel.
  13. Then reconnect the wire harness to your door switch and make sure that your felt is laying flat on the rear bulkhead.
  14. The final step is to replace the top of the dryer and reinstall the lint filter.
