Interlock Switch

This switch is multi purpose, for a dishwasher the switch is a simple on/off mechanism that prohibits the appliance from operating when the door is open. For a dryer, this switch will let the dryer know if the belt breaks and shut power off to the dryer. If your dryer will not operate or your dishwasher will not start you may need to replace the switch. This is a genuine OEM part. Please remember to disconnect the power to your appliance before starting your repair.

You will need to connect the brown wire to the number 1 terminal and the red to terminal 2. You will need to attach the wires labeled for the two prongs and the third is left and not used.

The rotary start switch is found inside the dryer control panel, and when actuated, it starts the dryer. Over time, the contacts inside the switch can short out, and when this happens, the dryer will not start.
